Angel Fantasm is the newest chapter in Mugler's Angel story, launched in 2024 and housed in a black star bottle rather than the familiar blue. It takes the patchouli backbone that made the original Angel famous in 1992 and rebuilds everything around it — swapping the caramel and praline sweetness for something tropical, creamy and closer to the skin.
It opens on juicy pineapple lifted by bergamot, which is brighter and fresher than anything in the original. The middle is where it turns: a soft coconut accord with tiare flower gives it a warm, sun-cream sort of creaminess. Underneath, patchouli, bourbon vanilla and amber do the heavy lifting, and that's what keeps it recognisably Angel rather than just another sweet fruity scent.
"Eau de Parfum Sensuelle" is Mugler's own name for this concentration, and it wears like it — rich, long-lasting and with real presence in a room. Two sprays is enough for most people. It's genuinely year-round: the pineapple and coconut work in warm weather, while the vanilla and amber base make it just as comfortable in autumn and winter.
Who it suits
A good pick if you like the original Angel but find it heavy, or if you want a gourmand that leans tropical rather than sugary. It's marketed for women, though the patchouli and amber base give it enough weight to be worn by anyone.
